Thanks to this process, you will discover your motivations. MEPD starts a career trajectory by creating your personal profile. Next, a career orientation will follow. Our approach to a career trajectory?
Through career orientation and career coaching, we can determine which qualities stand out and what you excel in. The career trajectory consists of several steps, during which you will always receive the right support from our specialists.
- Introduction: a non-binding introduction is the first step of the career trajectory. We will discuss what the process will look like and what the expectations are.
- Self-analysis: by conducting a self-analysis, we want to answer the questions: who you are, what you can do, and what you want.
- Labor market research: once the self-analysis is clear, we will research the job market. There we look for roles that fit who you are.
- Concrete action plan: after the analyses, we create a concrete action plan, which will form the basis for the rest of the career trajectory.
At the end of the trajectory, we can provide you with a targeted career advice and you’ll be able to answer questions like: does this job still suit me, what do I want, what can I do, what gives me satisfaction, and what career choices can I make.
Can I follow a career trajectory via my employer?
Yes, often a career trajectory can (partly) be reimbursed by your employer, for example through a development budget or as part of your personal development plan.
Maybe you don’t feel at home in your current position, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you need to leave your current employer. There might be a role within the company where you can find your place. That is why you can also start a career trajectory through your employer. With this, you’re basically asking your employer for help to give your career a new direction. For this, we look at possibilities within your current employer, but also outside the company, for example via outplacement.
By making a career trajectory through your employer open for discussion, you can both benefit. If you’re no longer comfortable in your job, you can no longer provide the quality your employer wants. Even if the career trajectory results in you leaving your current employer, the employer still benefits. Since you no longer have the motivation you once had, it can be better to hire a new colleague.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between career development and personal coaching?
With career development, we mainly focus on guiding your employee’s career direction. Career development is the way to discover where the strengths of your people lie. A career trajectory provides a complete overview of competencies, development opportunities, character, and motivation.
Personal career coaching helps speed up the development process of employees. You gain more insight into their values and talents, including their pitfalls. How can they break their behavioral patterns? Do your employees have (personal) leadership qualities? By using personal career development, you quickly gain insight and results with a high return. The career advisor from MEPD can also contribute to this.
What does career development bring for my employee?
During the career trajectory, your employee will get answers to the questions: who am I, what do I want and what can I do. By following a program with tests in the field of talents, interests, motivations, and abilities, employees are helped to answer these questions. During the career development sessions, the results are discussed and the employee receives a clear profile with their qualities, strengths and weaknesses, job preferences, etc. Based on this, we create an action plan and career advice with concrete goals and actions that further shape the desired career path.
What does career development bring for the organization?
Research shows that job satisfaction increases after completing career development, even if the work situation remains unchanged. Thanks to career development, employees feel supported in their development. This enhances motivation, engagement, and job satisfaction.
Additional benefit: experience shows that employees become more proactive through career coaching and are quicker to take action to adjust unsatisfactory work situations in time. A win-win situation!
How long does a career trajectory take?
The duration of a career trajectory depends on your situation and goals. On average, it lasts between 3 and 6 months, providing enough time for insight, development and taking concrete steps.
What does a career trajectory cost?
The costs vary per trajectory, depending on duration and content. We always create a tailor-made proposal, so you know exactly what to expect.
