Meet Jeanette van Rooijen, our decisive and connecting project support colleague.
Who are you and what do you do at MEPD?
As a project support employee, I work closely with the West and Central regional teams. From our offices in Barendrecht and Baarn, I provide energetic and enthusiastic support with the planning, organization, and administration of ongoing projects. I keep in touch with clients and participants and am happy to lend a hand wherever I can. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping people to look ahead positively and find energy in a (new) job.
What has made the biggest impression on you since you started at MEPD and why?
My first project in Almere has stuck with me. There, hundreds of people lost their jobs due to the relocation of production abroad. The factory had a diverse group of employees with different backgrounds, which created a strong sense of unity. I had just lost my previous job myself, so I felt their sadness and uncertainty. It was confronting because for us it was an exciting assignment, but I quickly realized how valuable our work is. We not only helped these people cope with their loss, but also with finding new opportunities. That made me proud, especially because the impact of what we do is truly significant.
We are impact makers.
How do you make an impact?
My strength is connecting people. I am the link between our company and the client, between teams, and between colleagues. Without this contact and connection, projects run less smoothly. I get a lot of energy from this and hope to keep doing it for a long time.
