Held up a mirror, very special

“After I was laid off, I was advised to contact an outplacement agency. So I did. It was scary at first, but I thought, ‘I’ll just do it.’ They taught me how to apply for jobs by looking at vacancies in a certain way. What also struck me was that I got to know myself. That was really quite special, because you’re kind of confronted with yourself. In that, you encounter all sorts of qualities, both strong and less strong points about yourself. I actually found that quite funny. And it certainly did me good.”
